Going Public Campaign

The Public Theater is completing a $40 million renovation of our historic headquarters to create a performance venue that is as accessible as our programming. This project represents the first facility upgrade since The Public opened in 1967. Improvements include a redesigned entry, expanded lobby and centralized box office, new restrooms, façade restoration, new entry and kitchen for Joe’s Pub, improved concessions service and a restaurant lounge. Behind-the-scenes we are upgrading systems to improve efficiency. Construction is expected to be completed by fall 2012.

Your support will enable us to complete this vital project, strengthen the organization for years to come, upgrade a New York landmark building, and ensure greater access to the arts for future generations.
