Going Public Campaign
The Public Theater is completing a $40 million renovation of our historic headquarters to create a performance venue that is as accessible as our programming. This project represents the first facility upgrade since The Public opened in 1967. Improvements include a redesigned entry, expanded lobby and centralized box office, new restrooms, façade restoration, new entry and kitchen for Joe’s Pub, improved concessions service and a restaurant lounge. Behind-the-scenes we are upgrading systems to improve efficiency. Construction is expected to be completed by fall 2012.
